The brief
A government entity needed citizens to pay fines and complete renewals online — a service where correctness, accessibility, and uptime are not negotiable, and where every dollar must be accounted for.
Our role
We were responsible for building out enhancements to the platform within a strict security regime — working across its many safeguards, holding to a high standard of security practice, and reviewing every change with care. We also joined client calls to understand the project’s requirements firsthand.
Approach
Design for the citizen who has the least margin for error. Make the happy path obvious, make failures safe and recoverable, and treat accessibility and reconciliation as requirements rather than features.
Outcome
A public service people can trust to take their payment correctly the first time — delivered under the constraints that public-sector work demands.
